There is a colorful world beneath the ocean, where there are many sea creatures with bizarre shapes and sizes of different sizes. However, some of them are given names inspired by food, possibly because when they were named, biologists were hungry and craving something. The oceans are home to some of the strangest creatures known to man. Below are some of the world’s weirdest and funniest name fish.
1. Whitemargin Stargazer

Also known as the pop-eye fish, one may cite the whitemargin stargazer buried in the sand with only the eyes and mouth showing. It uses this habit to catch its unsuspecting prey for food. The weirdest thing about the stargazer is that possesses electric organs in its body. As a result, it can discharge about 50 volts within the right water temperatures.
2. Asian Sheepshead Wrasse

The female Asian sheepshead has the amazing ability to switch genders as it desires. The fish has a bulbous chin. Its species is commonly found around the Asian waters; specifically around Korea, Japan, and South China.
3. Tomato clown fish

The beautiful fish is bright red like a tomato. They look quite similar to his friend Nemo but the color is much darker, so you can easily distinguish them from other normal clownfish.
4. Cauliflower jellyfish

Members of the genus Cephea are also known by the common name cauliflower jellyfish because of their cauliflower-like lumpy bodies. Just like the vegetable that looks like me, the cauliflower jellyfish is edible, making it a delicacy for both sea turtles and humans.
6. Elefish

The elefish an extremely interesting individual of the Proboscis family that lives in the tributaries of the Niger River, West Africa. Their bodies are long and slender with a narrow tail and a long, proboscis-like nose. They use its special proboscis to forage and communicate with the outside world, to move around and to defend themselves. The fish’s tail has a weak generator that helps them pinpoint the exact location of the food.
