Meatloaf recipe

Meat loaf is a typical dish of the good cook of the United States. Usually made with ground beef, this is an easy recipe and another way to enjoy meat.

Ingredients

  • 680 g of ground beef (1.5 pounds)

  • 1 egg

  • 1 onion

  • 235 ml of milk (1 cup)

  • 100 g breadcrumbs (1 cup)

  • 25 g brown sugar

  • 30 ml of mustard (2 tablespoons)

  • 80 ml ketchup (1/3 cup)

  • Salt and pepper

  • 1 tablespoon of worcestershire sauce (1 tablespoon)

  • Olive oil

Meatloaf for me is a bit like an American mother’s “easy” recipe with mac and cheese.

This is another way of eating meat, usually grilled or cooked.

If for this recipe you are using low-quality ground meat, which might give up a lot of water, I recommend that you cook it just a little beforehand so that it gives back its water.

This recipe, of European origin (all variations are here), can be easily modified using other meats or adding spices.
