Southern Fried Chicken Butter

A crunchy bread that’s delicious on the outside with a soft, moist center is what Southern Fried Chicken is all about. It’s the kind of finger-licking comfort food that everyone likes. Serving it with your favourite homestyle sides also washing it down with a cup of sweet tea about a taste of the South in mouth.

  • Ingredients :

° 500 ml (2 cups) buttermilk
° 7.5 ml (1 teaspoon) salt
° 7.5 ml (1 ½ teaspoon) onion powder
° 7.5ml garlic powder
° 5 ml (1 teaspoon) cayenne pepper
° 2.5 ml (half a teaspoon) sweet pepper
° 8 chicken thighs, peeled, boned and skinned
° 8 thighs with bone and skin
° Bread crumbs
° 450g (3 cups) unbleached all-purpose flour
° 7.5 ml (1 teaspoon) light smoked paprika
° 7.5 ml (1 teaspoon) cayenne pepper
° 7.5ml garlic powder
° 7.5 ml (1 ½ teaspoon) onion powder
° 7.5 ml of mustard powder
° 7.5 ml (1 teaspoon) salt
° spicy mayonnaise
° 250 ml (1 cup) mayonnaise
° 15 ml (1 tablespoon) sambal olek (chili sauce)
° 5 ml (1 teaspoon) honey

  • Preparation :

In a bowl, mix the curd, salt and spices. Add well covered chicken. Covering also putting in fridge for 12 h .
Bread crumbs
In a large bowl, mix flour, spices and salt.
Heat oil in a fryer to 165°C (325°F). Placing paper towels on baking tray.
Removing chicken from marinade without drying it too much – coat chicken in the flour mixture. Dip the chicken back into the marinade and cover it again in the flour mixture. Get rid of the excess. Set aside on baking sheet.
Fry four to 5 pieces at a time for 17 minutes. Watch out for food stains. If employ a therm ometer, it must read 82°C (180°F) when inserted to center of piece without touching bone. drain on plate. keep cooking with remain chicken.
spicy mayonnaise
In bowl, mix all ingredients. Serving with fried chicken.
