Classic banana pudding begins with a crisp layer of vanilla wafers, is stacked with wonderfully ripe banana slices, and is topped with the greatest homemade vanilla pudding you’ve ever tasted.
8 tablespoons flour
1 Mug sugar
a pinch of salt
4 quarts milk
4 beaten egg yolks
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
In a medium saucepan, whisk together the flour, sugar, salt, milk, egg yolks, and vanilla extract until thickened. Stir regularly since it will stick if you don’t. The thickening process will take about 15-20 minutes.
In the bottom of the dish, layer bananas and cookies.
Pour half of the pudding mixture over the bananas and cookies.
Steps 2 and 3 should be repeated.
Sprinkle with a few vanilla wafers that have been crumbled.
